Marine Services was the diving contractor chosen by Kasper Diving and
SMIT International Ltd. in the successful roll-over of the Seaspan's
'Rigger', a self-dumping log barge.
The barge overturned while dumping logs at Avalon Point along the
west shore of Thornborough Channel in Howe Sound, BC. Additional work
included retreaval of both grapples and three boom boats from a water
depth of 160 ft.
The barge was towed to nearby Gambier Island, where she was righted
with the twin cranes still attached.
